What's new in version 4.0.11

Bug fixes:
--Fixed bug that prevented the assembler from properly evaluating some operands.

Enhancements:
--The first argument to a .data pseudo-instruction--namely, the number of cells
to be filled with data--can now be written as an integer literal in decimal,
hexadecimal (by preceding it with 0x), and in binary (by preceding it with 0b).
--A warning message now appears if the user switches to debug mode without
first setting the program counter in the Breakpoints tab of the Execute|Options dialog.

-----------------------------------------------------------
What's new in version 4.0.10

Bug fixes:
--Branch and Test microinstructions can now jump backward (using negative values) as well as forwards (using non-negative values).
--A carry bit can now be specified for Increment microinstructions.
--A .data pseudo-instruction of the form ".data 8 n" where the cell size is 1
byte and where n > 0 will now work.
--You can now include punctuation (fields of 0 bits) in your assembly
instructions. These fields can be designated as optional, which means the
user can choose to leave them out when writing an assembly instruction.
--In addition to optional punctuation fields, you can now include one
optional non-punctuation field (a field of 1 or more bits).
--Duplicating existing fields now works correctly in the dialog for editing
fields.
--Rearranging the fields of an instruction so that their order is different in the assembly format from the instruction format now works.

Enhancements:
--(none)

-----------------------------------------------------------
What's new in version 4.0.9

Bug fixes:
--Fixed bug in reading/writing MIF and Intel Hex files.
--Minor bug fixes.

Enhancements:
--Break points are now implemented using a program counter register that the
user specifies in the Execute|Options dialog. At the start of each machine cycle,
CPU Sim checks the address stored in the program counter to find the next instruction
to be executed. If that instruction has a break point set, CPU Sim halts.

-----------------------------------------------------------
What's new in version 4.0.8

Bug fixes:
--Fixed bug where CPU Sim didn't properly read/write MIF and Intel Hex files
due to line endings.
--Fixed bug when running CPU Sim in debug mode and stepping by microinstruction.
It now properly outlines the registers and RAM cells that changed.
--Fixed bug in the setting and clearing of the carry and overflow bits in
the Arithmetic and Increment microinstructions.

-----------------------------------------------------------
What's new in version 4.0.7

Bug fixes:
--Fixed bug where CPU Sim crashes if the file specified on the command line
with the -t flag doesn't exist
--Fixed bug where the "Edit Fields..." button in the Edit Machine Instructions
dialog caused a crash.
--Fixed bug where the "Properties..." button in the Edit Modules dialog caused
a crash.

-----------------------------------------------------------
What's new in version 4.0.6

Enhancements:
--Added flexibility to the operands of .data pseudo-instructions

-----------------------------------------------------------
What's new in version 4.0.5

Bug fixes:
--Fixed a bug where break points were not highlighted when reached nor
did stepping work correctly with the break points.

-----------------------------------------------------------
What's new in version 4.0.4

Bug fixes:
--Fixed a bug causing the buttons in the Debug toolbar to be disabled at inappropriate times.
--Fixed a bug in setting the carry bit in arithmetic and increment microinstructions.
--Fixed a bug in the TransferRtoR microinstruction when indexing is done from the right.

-----------------------------------------------------------
What's new in version 4.0.3

Bug fixes:
--Fixed a bug caused by changes in the JDK from 1.8.0_45 to 1.8.0_66
--Replaced the CPUSim.jar file with folder of class files to clear problems with
images and links in the CPU Sim Help documents
--The Mac version no longer uses the screen menubar and instead uses menubars
in the windows, due to a bug in JavaFX.

-----------------------------------------------------------
What's new in version 4.0.2

Bug fixes:
--A bug in backwards compatibility with old files has been fixed
--A bug in use of Condition Bits has been fixed

Enhancements:
--Assembly language programs can now assign to a signed field any value that fits
in that field, including positive values that are too big for 2s complement
  notation.

-----------------------------------------------------------
What's new in version 4.0.1

Bug fixes:
--Numerous small bugs.

Enhancements:
--All dialogs are now resizable and are more readable on screens with high DPI
  values.
--When displaying values in ASCII, non-printable characters now appear as boxes.
